Ultima has a unique composition, and was specifically designed as a rehydration product. The typical sports drink contains large amounts of simple sugars such as fructose, dextrose, and corn syrup as the major source of carbohydrate. Many are also designed with the ratio of sodium content to potassium content with a greater amount of sodium. This does enhance taste, but is the opposite of the intracellular electrolyte balance within the muscles. More potassium, as well as calcium and magnesium, protects the muscles from cramping and enhances neuromuscular performance. Ultima contains these minerals as well as other trace minerals which are derived from natural plant-based material.

Ultima contains vitamins and antioxidants to protect the body from the free radicals created by exercise. Vitamin C is present in the form of Ester C instead of ascorbate. This protects the stomach from upset because the vitamin is buffered and also makes the vitamin more bioavailable. In addition, Ultima contains grape seed extract, one of the most powerful free radical quenchers known plus the antioxidant mineral selenium and CoQ10.

Many sports drinks are syrupy sweet and have strong artificial flavors which send a signal of early satiety to the stomach and brain. Ultima, with natural, light flavors and taste allows you to continue drinking and hydrating. Ultima has no artificial colors, flavors, or carbonation.

Ultima is designed to be a hypotonic solution, allowing for more rapid and greater absorption of water from the stomach and small intestine. 70 Ionic Minerals (600 mg) - Ultima contains 70 major and trace minerals extracted from plant material in a highly bio-available form. These minerals are burned during exercise through the body's mechanism and lost through sweating and are essential to performance.
